Innate Inspiration

Looking To The Past

Ever wondered where the real foundations of training came from? At Innate, I take inspiration from the pioneers of strength and physique, the bronze, silver, and golden-era lifters. Each era has its own story, its own lessons and heroes. The bronze era taught resilience and creativity with simple equipment. The silver era refined technique and training methods, laying the groundwork for modern bodybuilding. The golden era pushed body building to new heights, exploring the limits of human potential.

Whilst the golden era is something to be admired, I'm more drawn to the bronze and silver era of lifting. What fascinates me most is not just their physiques, but their character. They faced war, hardship and immense challenges, demanding discipline, perseverance and integrity. Modern influencers can be inspiring, but the lessons from these past eras resonate more deeply with me. They show what can be achieved with dedication and focus.

This philosophy shapes everything we do at Innate. Training here is grounded in basics that have stood the test of time, consistency, progression and measured effort. The black and white photos of these greats are displayed throughout the studio, to both serve as both inspiration and decoration. Some may find motivation from them, others might simply enjoy how they complement the feel of the gym. I know the space is for everyone, but I put them up mainly to add my own style, celebrating the lifters I admire and look up to.
